How Safe Is Over 50’s Dating?

Did you ever think you’d be dating at this age?

I know I didn’t when it first happened to me.

When I started out, I did some pretty dumb things when it came to dating.

I posted pictures with my dad. (What was I thinking? Men thought he was my ex.)

I wanted romance, so I thought my dream was to make love on the beach with my new guy. (Right… you can imagine the kind of guy that attracted, can’t you?)

Truthfully, I didn’t know any better because who the heck dated that much back in high school and college? I sure didn’t.

I met my kid’s father at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I was a “little sis” for his fraternity and we got fixed up by one of his frat brothers who was dating one of the girls in my dorm.

We hung out daily and sort of just grew on each other as we fell into our college sweetheart relationship and then 24-year marriage.

After my divorce, I found myself failing miserably at dating so I decided I needed a coach to help me out.

When I couldn’t find one who was older than 35 to teach me about dating over 50 – and by the way, I wasn’t telling some young male coach who was my son’s age about my dating and sex life – I knew then that I was going to have to figure out over 50’s dating on my own.

My mom used to tell me I should be a detective because once I committed to something I believed in, I did everything I could to figure it all out until it’s done. Well that’s what I did with dating at our age.

I got my hands on every single thing I possibly could and tried out tons of the skills and tools I was learning about dating and men at this age.

Some worked for dating over 50 and some didn’t.

What I discovered was: dating at this age was a completely different ball game with a completely different set of rules.

Through research then trial and error, I figured how to attract Quality Men and ended up loving the great men I dated

I admit it took me 10 years to figure this all out. It doesn’t have to take you that long.

Yet I know it may feel funny to get help from a dating coach because you feel like you should know how to do this on your own. After all, you do almost everything on your own.

But how do you learn to do something you’ve never done before?
